So last night we went out agan, to the now famous Pukka bar and met a ot of the people that we spent the day on the boat with..which is nice! First Rye joins us, then AJ, then the Arizona people from last night, the New Yorkers from the boat and our German friend. There was a big fullmoon party n another beach so the bar is half empty… we didn’t want to go because the boat leaves so early and we can’t walk home if we go… which means you really have to stick together.
We request some silly dance songs and have a blast, and around midnight we terug to our little coffin… where our p0acked bags are waiting. This moring, when the alarm went off at 5 we jumped in some clothes, loaded the bags on our back and walked out of our hotel. Luckily we found a tricyc;e so we din’t have to walk…. Lazy people I guess.
At the boatterminal we were happy to notice that our names were on the list and after waiting outside and having our bags checked by a drug dog we boarded the vessel. This part of the trip was one of the most expensive, for about 35 euro’s… but the boat is amazing. Except for the blazing aircon the seats are comfortable and I put on my eyemask and awake just before we enter the harbor in Coron. The little bit that I have seen is gorgeous, the islands are different then the limestone cliffs we saw in Coron. There are many islands with lush green friendly hills on them.
After disembarking we take a tricycle to our hotel… we booked it a couple of days ago so we already forgot what we had booked… but when we enter there are clean marble floors and when we enter our room it could be as if we were in an European hotel. Lovely beds, warm shower, a toiletseat and even the wifi is better. And breakfast is included. We feel very blessed and while Gen has some (free!) coffee we think about the plan for the day. We notice that Gen needs a little more time to get used to the new surroundings, El Nido was a backpackersheaven and this is a very small island with more Filipinos then backpackers. It has it’s charm but we also miss the hustle and bustle of the beachfront restaurants where we had dinner while our feet were washed in the ocean.
We walk into town and visit some diveshops, have a drink and basically try to get adjusted to the heat again, the aircon on the boat makes it really difficult to adjust so we don’t feel active. After planning the dives (Gen is trying a DSD (Discover Scuba diving!) we have lunch. Gen turns a little pale and we try to find a motorbike for rent but end up walking back to the hotel. Apparently all the motorbikes are rented and Gen really needs to take some more rest.
I walk into town and decide to treat myself! I JHave a pedicure, some beauty stuff and a masaage. When I return to the room Gen is feeing a bit better and we have dinner in a sky restaurant overlooking the bay (there are no beaches in Coron city). After the food we return to the hotel where I talk to my boyfriend for ages and Gen falls asleep. Another day is over and with only 2 days left… it feels like we’re way to short in time.
But exciting things are planned so I too need to get some rest so I can be refreshed in the morning.
